Fall is Back and so are the flavors: edition 2

As we go into the second week of fall, more fruits, vegetables, and spices come into season. This weeks items are cinnamon, apples, and potatoes. If you want to use some of these items,  quick, easy and delicious recipes are down below!

Coffeebar Chai

To warm you up and get you up and going, Coffeebar Chai Tea will suit you. With it’s cinnamon infusion, you get a nice kick of energy.

Ingredients

~ 2 cups of water

~ 4 black tea bags

~ ¼ cup of honey

~ 1 cinnamon stick

~ 5 whole cloves

~ ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

~ ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger

~ 1 pinch ground nutmeg

~ 2 cups of milk

Directions

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add tea, honey and vanilla. Season with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger and nutmeg. Simmer for 5 minuets. Pour in milk, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, and strain through a fine sieve.

Apple Hermits

To go along with your steaming hot Coffeebar Chai (See Above), you can have Apple Hermit cookies. With its warm center and crunchy outside, this makes the perfect dessert and/or snack.  

Ingredients

~ 2 cups of all-purpose flour

~ 1 teaspoon of baking soda

~ 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

~ 1 teaspoon of ground cloves

~ ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg

~ ½ teaspoon of salt

~ ½ cup of butter

~ 1 ½ cups of packed brown sugar.

~ 1 egg, beaten

~ 1 cup of chopped walnuts

~ 1 cup of chopped apple

~ 1 cup of raisins

~ ⅔ cup of powdered sugar

~ 1 teaspoon of milk

Directions

Preheat over to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, sift together, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. In a large bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy. Mix in sugar and egg. Stir in flour mixture, and mix thoroughly. Fold in nuts, apples, and raisins.

Drop by round teaspoon onto prepared cookie sheets about 1 ½ inch apart. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

In a small bowl mic together powdered sugar with milk to make a thin glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies.

Roast Potato

Roast Potato are perfect to have with any dinner. With its easy recipe and small amount of ingredients, this recipe is quick, easy, and delicious.

Ingredients

~ 2 pounds of red potatoes, cut into quarters

~ 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

~ 1 tablespoon of salt

~ ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

~ ½ teaspoon of dried rosemary, crushed

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Place potatoes in a large roasting pan and toss with oil, salt, pepper, and rosemary until evenly coated. Spread out potatoes in a single layer.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minuets, stirring occasionally. Serve immediatly.
